2022-23 School Year: How many students were enrolled in Upson County schools?

There were 3,918 students enrolled in Upson County schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.5% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Boys made up 50.5% of the county's student body, while the other 49.5% were girls.

Data also showed that white students made up 53.4% of the student body, the largest percentage in Upson County schools, followed by African American students with 36%, 5.4% multiracial students, 4.3% Hispanic students and 0.7% Asian students.

Upson-Lee High School stood out with the highest enrollment among Upson County's four schools in the 2022-23 cycle, welcoming 1,161 students.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
